Get to Know Me

He kākano ahau i ruia mai i Rangiātea

I am a seed which was sewn in the heavens of Rangiatea

A famous proverb from the Aotea waka, which shows the importance of my genealogy and culture.

My name is Putiputi Flowers Kaiwai and I hail from the small township of Tolaga Bay (Uawa) on the North Island's East Coast of New Zealand.  Welcome, Welcome.

I am of  Māori decent, tangata whenua and indigenous to New Zealand.  New Zealand is home to many different peoples with different cultures, but the state officially recognises only the dominant Pākehā culture and the indigenous Māori culture. Some would prefer that New Zealand was officially multicultural, rather than a bicultural nation.

I have a Graduate Diploma in Professional Supervision, (Bi-Culturalism in Practice Kaitiakitanga), Iwi Maori Social Services at L4, I am a certified Life Coach with a Diploma in Life Coaching, Diploma in Professional Spirituality Coaching,  A Diploma in Adult Education at L5 and Te Reo Maori L1 - L5 Te Wananga o Aotearoa, Te Putaketanga - Te Ronakitanga.

I worked for New Zealand Employment Service as an Employment Advisor for 6 years, helping clients into work.  I then transitioned to Work and Income New Zealand as a Work Broker and Case manager for another 6 years still helping people into employment.  For the next 15 years I worked in a Private Training Establishment working within the Education sector with Youth Guarantee students aged 15 years - 19years.

In the past I have experienced many challenges and helped numerous clients break through the obstacles that seemed to be holding them back in life.  Life's too short to be unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled.  I am here to help my clients achieve a more positive outlook on life, and provide them with all the tools necessary to get them where they need to be.  Let me help you learn and develop better ways to handle the issues that are standing in the way of your goals.
